New Delhi: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will launch 31 BR Ambedkar Centres of Excellence across India, starting from Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

The centres will provide free coaching for Civil Services Examinations for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes’ (SC) category.

Students need to pass an entrance test for admission to the upcoming coaching centres. Each centre will have 100 seats, out of which 33% of seats will be for eligible female candidates from the reserved SC category.

There will be three faculty members per centre. The BR Ambedkar Centres of Excellence proposed to include separate classrooms, high-speed Wi-fi connectivity, a library, and other infrastructural facilities.

These Centres will be established in 31 Central Universities across the country, including the BHU, which will host the national launch of the Centres at the Shatabdi Krishi Prekshagrih, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, on April 22, 2022.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, and BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir K. Jain will launch the event. Vice-Chancellors of other universities will also attend the event.
