Ahmedabad: Students of the last semester (final year) at the National Institute of Mass Communication and Journalism have wonderfully organized an event under Accendo.

The word ‘Accendo’ is derived from the Latin word, ad which means “to”, and candeō which means illuminate. Thus, it implies “to light”.

Accendo is an annual theme-based program started in 2016 under the mentorship of Dr. Shirish Kashikar, Director, NIMCJ, and Dr. Shashikant Bhagat. Accendo is organized by the final semester students of Advertising and Public Relations at the National Institute of Mass Communication and Journalism.

Final semester students have planned, created, designed, and executed the whole event. During the process of organizing, they enhance their industrial exposure and become apt at managerial decisions. The ability to communicate and articulate under extreme pressure situations is the key skillset for a media professional.

Accendo aims to provide an opportunity to learn the nuances of effective communication. It is devoted to sharpening communication skills to cater to the 360-degree demands of the dynamic media industry by providing comprehensive practical training to budding media professionals to face the challenges of the real world of media.

The program brings in the different professions under a banner, where learning takes place. This year accendo will be stepping into its 6th year.
