Mumbai: The makers of the upcoming Bollywood film Jersey have postponed the release of the film to avert a clash with much-awaited South-Indian films, KGF Chapter 2 and Beast.
The Shahid Kapoor-Mrunal Thakur starrer has been postponed by a week. According to the revised date, the sports drama will now release on April 22, 2022. The film was initially slated for a December 2021 release. However, it was delayed due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
Written and Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, produced by Dil Raju, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, Aman Gill, and Allu Aravind, and distributed by Yash Raj Films, Geetha Arts, and Pen India Limited, the sports drama is a Bollywood remake of the 2019 Telugu film with the same name.
The film features actors Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, Geetika Mehandru, Rudrashish Majumder, Anjum Batra, and Shishir Sharma in pivotal roles.
