Film Jai Bhim to be screened at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

Mumbai: South Indian film, Jai Bhim will be screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM) this year. The festival will be held between August 12 and August 30, 2022.

The festival will open with the Bollywood film, Dobaaraa. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film features Taapsee Pannu in the lead.

Industry celebrities like Samantha Prabhu, Tamanna Bhatia, Abhishek Bachchan, Kapil Dev, Kabir Khan, Shefali Shah, and Vaani Kapoor are expected to attend  and participate in the event. Bhatia is also expected to judge a reality dance competition as part of the IIFM 2022.

Other films on the list that will be featured during the Fest also include Tamil films like The Road to Kuthriyar, Perianayaki, and Paraasakthi.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the banner of 2D entertainment, film Jai Bhim features actors Suriya, Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, and Rajisha Vijayan in pivotal roles with music composer Sean Roldan, cinematography by S R Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj.

Based on a real-life court case that was fought by Justice K Chandru, Jai Bhim revolves around the story of a wrongly convicted tribal man. His pregnant wife moves the court and tries to wage a war against  the system to bring the truth to light. She is supported by her lawyer, Jai Bhim.
