Emilia Romagna Grand Prix: Max Verstappen wins the F1 Title

New Delhi: Dutch racer Max Verstappen won the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola on Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Verstappen led the first lap, followed by Sergio Perez, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc, respectively. Daniel Riccardo was the last player by lap four, whereas Norris ventured closer to Leclerc.

Leclerc was behind Norris while Sebastian Vettel passed Fernando Alonso in the fifth lap. Though Verstappen pulled away in lap six, Kevin Magnussen increased the distance between him and George Russell.

Verstappen made a pit stop in lap 7, which led to Leclerc being 6.080s behind Versatappen’s red bull. There is a close shave between Russell and Magnussen as they beat each other.

Magnussen made Russell take a long way around and right in lap 11. Meanwhile, Leclerc is 7.5s behind Verstappen and 2.597s behind Perez by the eleventh lap.

There was an internal race between Russell and Magnussen for the fifth place. Though Russell zoomed past Magnussen for the fifth place, Valtteri Bottas threatened him at rank seven.

Verstappen had an uninterrupted lead at lap 21, whereas Lewis Hamilton drifted to rank 14 behind Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, and Esteban Ocon during the 22nd lap.

The Dutch racer took another fastest lap of the event with 10.857s by lap 34. He set the third lap to lead by 12.805s by lap 47. The undefeated Verstappen cruised through the event and wonthe F1 title.
