New Delhi: Two earthquake tremors measuring 4.4 and 4.3 on the Richter scale, respectively, were felt in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday, reports said.
The northeastern state bordering China has experienced four earthquakes in as many days.
The National Centre for Seismology reported these tremors in the Basar and Pangin districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
The first tremors of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale were felt near Basar district, followed by another earthquake of 4.3 intensity near Pangin district.
Sharing the seismological map of the area on Twitter, the NCS wrote, “An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred on October 4, 2021, at 12:14 am IST. The tremors were at Latitude 32.41 and Longitude 92.73, with a depth of 106kms. It was located 527kms North-Northwest of Basar, Arunachal Pradesh, India.”
“Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred on October 4, 2021, at 08:54 am IST on a Latitude of 30.34, Longitude of 94.62, and a depth of 10kms. It was located 252kms North-Northwest of Pangin, Arunachal Pradesh, India,” the NCS added.
Arunachal Pradesh had experienced earthquakes on October 1 and 2, consecutively. No loss of life or damage of property was reported so far.
Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, also experienced slight to moderate tremors of 3.7 magnitudes on Monday.
