New Delhi: A mild earthquake with an intensity of 3.7 on the Richter scale shook the Ravangla district of Sikkim in the early hours of Wednesday. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) shared a seismograph on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas.
“An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred on January 5, 2022, at 03:01 am IST on a latitude of 27.42 and longitude 88.39, with a depth of 5km and was located 12km North of Ravangla, Sikkim,” the NCS tweeted.
The tremblor was witnessed hours after an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale struck the Dharamshala district of Himachal Pradesh around 10 pm on Tuesday.
“An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred on January 4, 2022, at 10:45 pm IST on a latitude of 32.83 and longitude of 75.87, with a depth of 5 km, located 80km North-Northwest of Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh,” the NCS had tweeted.
There are no reports of damages or casualties so far.
