New Delhi, June 21: British cyclist Katie Archibald will miss the Olympic Games, beginning in Paris next month, due to an injury, the media reported on Thursday.
Archibald, 30, broke her tibia and fibula bones in her leg and ripped two ligaments off the bone after tripping over a step in her garden recently.
In a statement, the British Cycling said “We share Katie’s heartbreak over her injury and the cruel manner in which she has been denied the chance to ride for the medals she coveted in Paris.”
She won the Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games and silver at 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
