Ahmedabad – June 28: A several airline companies have decided to reduce their ticket prices to attract travelers. The discount on airfares will apply from August to October. Well-known companies have low ticket fares in the months of August-October, a monsoon sale scheme was announced by Alliance Air, Spice Jet, and Vistara airlines only last week to attract more flyers.

The second wave of Coronavirus had forced the government to impose necessary restrictions and lockdown. The aviation sector is facing heavy losses due to a lack of passengers during the second wave of the pandemic.

The cheapest fare on a return ticket from Mumbai to Srinagar in the month of June-July is Rs 15,000 whereas the same fare is starting at Rs 8,300 for August. On the other hand, the cheapest fare on the Mumbai-Delhi route was Rs 10000 and the lowest fare for August is Rs 4,600. This indicates advance ticket prices to be lowered by almost 50%.

This year the airfares are soaring as the government has increased fares by 15% from July 1.

A similar decline is being witnessed in most of the domestic sector airfares. However, airline companies also believe that uncertainty surrounding the third wave of Corona can be a major drawback for not enough bookings in the upcoming months.
