Mumbai: Amazon Prime Video announced the renewal of a wide range of new shows at an event like Farzi, Dahaad, Bambai Meri Jaan, and Gulkanda Tales by Pankaj Tripathi, among others.
The streaming giant also revealed that they plan to renew many of their old shows. The top five shows that the OTT platform will renew are Paatal Lok, The Family Man, Mirzapur, Panchayat, and Breathe.
The OTT platform will return with Paatal Lok, that premieres in May 2022. The platform described the second season as “Hathi Ram faces grave mortal dangers in a new pursuit that takes him back to the netherworld.”
The Family Man is also returning with another season with actor Manoj Tiwari reprising the character of Srikant Tiwari. Created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the second season hinted at a post-pandemic world with a Chinese organization.
One of Prime’s most successful shows, Mirzapur, will also return with season three in October 2022. The pre-production is underway, and the shooting will commence soon. The show will be less violent than in the previous seasons.
Actor Neena Gupta revealed the web series Panchayat to return to Prime Video. The Deepak Kumar Mishra directorial will feature Gupta as Pradhan Manju Devi and Jitendra Kumar as a Panchayat Secretary named Abhishek Tripathi.
Another popular show, Breathe: Into the Shadows, will return with season two on Prime. The series will star Abhishek Bachchan, Amit Sadh, Nithya Menen, Naveen Kasturia, and Saiyami Kher in pivotal roles. Bachchan and Sadh will reprise their roles of Dr. Avinash Sabharwal and Kabir Sawant.
Talking about the upcoming Bachchan-starrer, the platform announced, “It’s time to welcome back a favorite! Watch out for another intriguing tale of twists and mind games!”
