World Cup: Pakistani Actress Offers to go on Date if Bangladesh can Defeat India

NEW DELHI, Oct 18: Rattled by humiliating defeat in the hands of the arch rival India in the World Cup match, the Pakistani cricket fans are looking for revenge praying for any other team to beat India.

Since in the round-robin league system Pakistan had no chance of facing India again to take the revenge unless both the teams qualify for semi-final or final, the fans are hoping that their “friend” Bangladesh would avenge their defeat when they take on India on Thursday in Pune.

A Pakistani film actress went to the extent to offer going on date with a Bangladeshi cricketer if they can beat India and take Pakistan’s revenge against the host team. The young actress, by the name of Sehar Shinwari, took to social media platform X as she promised to go on a date with a Bangladesh cricketer if they manage to beat India in the World Cup clash.

“InshAllah my Bangali Bandu will avenge us in the next match. I will go to Dhaka and have a fish dinner date with Bangali boy if their team managed to beat India,” Sehar posted on X.

On the cricketing front, the Pakistan Cricket Board has lodged a formal protest with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over multiple matters. The PCB took to social media, to announce the same on Tuesday including complaining against the crowd behaviour to demoralise Pakistani cricketers.

The PCB and its cricket director Micky Arthur had also complained that lack of Pakistani supporters in the stadium to cheer the team had also contributed in the team’s defeat to India. It has raised strong objections against delay in granting visa to the Pakistani fans to boost the morale of the players.

As for Pakistan’s on-field assignments, Babar Azam’s men are next scheduled to take on Australia, a side that has only won one of its first three matches. While Pakistan, which has won two of their three matches, would be eager to return to winning ways, the Aussies will be keen to continue with its winning streak.
