Sports: What makes India great in cricket history?

New Delhi:  The history of cricket in India began in the 17th and 18th centuries through sailors and traders of the British East India Company. Thereafter, the Indian cricket team started growing every day.

Indian cricket has grown by leaps and bounds and won several accolades over the years. It has never looked back.

What makes India great in cricket history?

We can explore some reasons here:

One: India has a large pool of talented players. The growing number each year makes a big difference to other cricket-playing countries as well.

Two: A strong domestic cricket organization. A lot of domestic cricket matches each year –such as the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Irani Trophy, among others—keep the game spot-on. These trophies are organized annually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Popularity: In India, cricket continues to be the most popular sports activity. It inspires cricket players to put in all their efforts to win matches and fans.

Infrastructure: India has several major cricket stadiums, and more are coming up across the country. A good infrastructure motivates cricketers to excel in their activity.

Government support; Being the most popular sports activity in India, cricket derives support at all levels of the government, which, again, makes it number one in all activities of games and sports in the country.

Accessibility:  Cricket is not only the most popular sport, it is also easily accessible to the masses at all levels, and motivates them to play it locally with their own means.

No wonder India has won the five major ICC tournaments, winning the Cricket World Cup twice, the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, and the ICC Champions Trophy twice in 2002 and 2003.
