Ahmedabad: On Devarshi Narad’s Birth Anniversary, The Vishwa Samvad Kendra – Gujarat, on Sunday (May 22) awarded several journalists for their dedication and passion for this field. The award ceremony – was organized at Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA).
Seven journalists awarded on Devarshi Narad Birth Anniversary are associated with the media field for long years and working for well-known media nowadays.
Vishal Patadiya (Print Media), Gopi Dhandhar (Electronic Media), Ketan Trivedi (Web Media), Rajiv Patel (Radio Media), Sharya Rawal (Investigative Journalism), Jaswant Rawal (Special Award), Tarun Sheth (Special Award) received the award for their dedication and work.
On this occasion, Ashok Srivastav – Writer and Public Broadcaster at DD News – remained present as a Chief Guest. Ashok Srivastav shared his views on journalism before 2014 and journalism after 2014. “Journalists are like sparks – they can light a lamp with a spark if they want and light a fire with a spark also,”
Further, he added that “Attempts are being made in India to pretend that journalists cannot work independently. It is true that editors have weakened since economic liberalization, and advertising has become important. With the advent of social media, questions have been raised against journalists and the media house.”
