Veteran Malayalam actor Mamukkoya passed away

New Delhi, April 26: The veteran Malayalam actor Mamukkoya died at a private hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest. He was 77.

The veteran actor has worked in more than 400 movies in a career span of four decades and was an outstanding actor as a comedian and character actor.

Mamkkoya had gone to attend the inauguration of Pooondodu Janakeeya Seven Tournament at Kalikavu in Malappuram as a chief guest, but before the inauguration ceremony he started feeling uneasy and started to sweat, which followed a sudden cardiac arrest, and he collapsed in the ongoing event around 8 p.m. on Monday.

He was immediately taken to a private hospital situated in Wandoor. His condition was getting worse day by day, and he was kept on ventilator support in the ICU of Merita Hospital, but unfortunately, he died in the hospital on Wednesday.

Many celebrities from Malayalam, as well as Bollywood, expressed their condolences to his friends and family.

Mamukkoya is an Indian Malayalam actor who has worked in Malayalam movies. Not only that, but he has also appeared in French films named “Flamens of Paradise.” He had mostly worked in comics and was famous for his unique usage of the Mappila dialect and style. He also won the State Award for Best Comedian in Malayalam Cinema and became the first person to receive such an award.
