New Delhi: The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) on Monday recorded tremors in the national capital and near Southern Hyderabad.
However, there were no reports of any damage or casualties.
The Hyderabad tremor, having an intensity of 4.0 on the Richter Scale, was recorded at 5.53 AM. According to the Earthquake Monitoring Agency, its epicenter was about 156 km south of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh.
Confirming it, the NCS tweeted that an “Earthquake of Magnitude – 4.0, Occurred on July 26, 2021, 05:53 am IST, Latitude – 16.00 and Longitude – 78.22, Depth- 10 Km, Location- 156 km S. of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.”
Also, mild tremors were felt in New Delhi at around 6:42 AM. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) advised trains to run with caution and remain stationed at the next platform till the tremors subsided.
“The train services are now running normally,” DMRC tweeted later.
On Sunday, a 4.0 magnitude tremor was experienced in Sikkim at around 8:30 PM with South-West of Gangtok as the epicenter.
