NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Two minor boys in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar district were made to drink urine, green chillies rubbed in their anus, and forcibly injected petrol in their body on suspicion of theft.
The 10 and 15-year-old boys were suspected to have stolen ₹2,000, police said on Sunday. According to police, the incident took place at around 2 p.m. on August 4 at Pathra Bazar in eastern U.P.’s Siddarthnagar district.
The accused also made a video of the entire episode and posted it on social media, which went viral on Saturday and drew the attention of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Kumar Agarwal, who ordered action in the matter.
The horrifying videos of the assault showed the boys made to eat green chillies, and gulp these down with urine filled in a bottle. A group of men could be heard abusing them and threatening to beat them up if they didn’t go through with it. The goons allegedly caught the boys and tied them up, accusing them of stealing money.
Another disturbing video shows the boys lying face down on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs and trousers pulled down, while a man rubs and shoves green chillies in their anus. The boys, who were screaming in pain, are then also injected with a yellow coloured liquid believed to be petrol.
The video is from Arshan Chicken Shop near Konkati Chauraha of Pathra Bazaar police station area of the district. Police said they took immediate cognizance of the video “of objectionable act against two children” circulating on social media, and registered a case under relevant sections of the law. They have identified the people involved in the assault, and six of them have been detained, the district’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Siddhartha, said.
Based on the complaint lodged by the father of one of the minor boys, a case has been registered against eight persons at Pathra Police Station under various sections of the IPC. According to police, the accused tied the hands of the two boys after accusing them of stealing ₹2,000 from a chicken farm. They then administered to them petrol injections and put green chilli in their anus. Both boys cried for help, but no one came forward to their rescue.
On Sunday, BJP MP from Domariyaganj Jagdambika Pal went to the district hospital, where the boys are undergoing treatment. He spoke with their family members and assured them of stringent action in the matter.
The lawmaker told reporters the incident left even “Taliban’s cruelty” behind and instructed the SP to trace the other two accused who are still at large.
