New Delhi: The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) is the global governing body offootball associations, beach soccer, and futsal.
FIFA was founded in Paris in 1904 by seven national football associations of France, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Belgium to promote the game of association football.
Since then, FIFA has been headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, and 211 national football associations from different continents are its members.
FIFA’s objective is to improve the game of football,promoting it globally in the light of its unifying, educational, cultural, and humanitarian values, particularly through youth and development programs.
Currently, FIFA is headed by its President, Gianni Infantino, who is assisted by Senior Vice-President Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and four vice–presidents from different countries.
