Sitharaman asks entrepreneurs not to worry about their business
New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday asked the entrepreneurs to carry on with their business without a worry.
“Whatever the size of their businesses- small, medium, micro, nano or large– the entrepreneurs could carry on without a worry”, she told reporters here.
Her comments come a day after the government got a record windfall of Rs. 1.76 lakh crore from the RBI, although its deployment is yet to be decided.
“The tax collection targets are achievable,” she said.
Commenting on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement earlier in the day she said: “I don’t want to attach much important to what Gandhi has said. Whenever he raises things like ‘chor, chori’, one thing comes to my mind, he tried his best, but public gave him befitting reply. What’s point of using the same words again?”
According to her, the Bimal Jalan committee had eminent experts and it was constituted by the RBI, not the government. Any suggestions about the credibility of RBI are outlandish, she said.
