Rape Complaint Filed after 27 Years

NEW DELHI, Mar 6: An alleged rape victim filed a police compliant 27 years after the incident because her son borne out of the violations demanded to know his father’s name.

She told the police that she was raped multiple times by two persons when she was only 12 and gave birth to a boy in 1994.

Quoting her version of the compliant, police said she was residing with her sister and brother-in-law in Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh when she was only 12 years old. One Naki Hasan of her locality had entered the house when she was alone and allegedly raped her. After him, his younger brother Guddu also raped her. The victim has alleged that she was raped by both the accused on multiple occasions.

According to the complainant, she became pregnant at the age of 13 and gave birth to a boy. Out of social shame, the infant was given to a person belonging to the victim’s native village Udhampur, located within the Shahabad police station limits, while she moved to Rampur as his brother-in-law got transferred there.

The police said the victim’s brother-in-law got her married to a man in Ghazipur district, but after 10 years, when her husband came to know that she was raped, he divorced her and she returned to Rampur.

Meanwhile, the boy who had grown up by now enquired about his mother and father and was told his mother’s name.

The boy met the victim and demanded to know his father’s name. On his insistence, she went to lodge a police complaint but the police initially refused. She moved the court and on its order the police have filed a case of gangrape against the two accused at the Sadar Bazar police station on the basis of her complaint.

The police said the DNA test of the boy would be conducted to ascertain the facts.
