New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek at the end of May by video link, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov media on Sunday.

“He will take part by video link,” he said when asked if Putin will participate.

The chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union passed to Kyrgyzstan in 2022. The Eurasian Economic Forum is held in the state that chairs the EAEU agencies. The event is scheduled for May 26 in Bishkek. A meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which will be held by video link, is scheduled for the following day.

The trade relations between Russia and European countries have been disrupted after Russia’s military operations in Ukraine. Many European countries – including France and Germany – have imposed sanctions on Russia.

According to the experts, the Moscow government opposed the expansion of NATO in Europe, and after several warnings to Ukraine over NATO’s presence in Ukraine, Russia took a step to invade Kyiv.
