Pro Kabaddi League: Puneri Paltan Ousted U Mumba 42-23

New Delhi: Team Puneri Paltan ousted U Mumba 42-23 of the Pro Kabaddi League at the Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru, on Thursday, January 14, 2022.

Pune dominated the first half with Aslam Inamdar and Nitin Tomar impressing the raids. Inamdar dismissed Mumbai skipper Fazal Atrachali to gain a first for the team. Both teams scored aggressively before Pune’s Vishal Bhardwaj tackled Jashnadeep Singh and scored the first raid defence.

Though both teams locked horns with 6-6 in the 11th minute, captain Tomar conducted a 3-point Super Raid in the 13th minute. Bhardwaj covered left and gained raids while Mumbai players Abhinesh Nadarajan and Baldev Singh combined for 6 successful tackles.

Meanwhile, Mumbai suffered a setback after Ajith Kumar suffered an injury and was out of the match. Mumbai’s Rahul Sethpal managed 4 tackles, whereas Tomar scored 2 points right before the interval.  Pune leads the first half with 18-10.

The next half began with Inamdar conducting a 3-point Super Raid as Pune progressed to 21-10. Sethpal got a Hi-5 while Inamdar and Mohit Goyat paced Pune ahead. Tomar conducted successful raids and dismissed Mumbai thrice. Bhardwaj tackled Abhishek and completed his first Hi-5 of the season.

Tomar super tackled, completed a Hi-5, and scored 9 additional points for the team. Pune won the event by 42-23.
