Pro Kabaddi League: Dabang Delhi KC Beats Patna Pirates 32-29

New Delhi: Team Dabangg Delhi KC beat Patna Pirates 32-29 in the Pro Kabaddi League held at the Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

The Patna Pirates began the match with a raid and gained an early 3-0 lead. Patna’s Sachin Tanwar got bonus points, and Prashanth made 2 raid points. On the other hand, Sandeep Narwal and Vijay Malik brought empty raids for Delhi.

Vijay then conducted a do-or-die raid, made a touchpoint at Sajin Chandrashekhar, and captured bonus points to equalise scores at 5-5. Prashanth also conducted a do-or-die raid, and Patna won bonus points. Delhi defender Manjeet Chillar took Prashanth down.

Delhi’s Ashu Malik escaped Mohammadreza Chiyaneh’s ankle-hold and tagged Patna’s Neeraj Kumar before reaching the midline. Delhi conducted the first All-Out and took an 11-6 lead. Sandeep went for a do-or-die raid to gain a bonus and a touchpoint. Delhi defender Krishan Dhull ousted Sachin with a solid block, and Delhi maintained an 18-9 lead.

The second half began with Sandeep conducting empty raids. Meanwhile, Patna managed 5 points, including 3 by Guman Singh and 1  by Sachin and Monu Goyat each. Guman took Jeeva Kumar and a bonus, Monu took Ashu, and Sachin took Krishan down. Sachin and Chiyaneh combined to reduce their opponents.

Vijay and Manjeet made a do-or-die, and Neeraj gave a touchpoint to Vijay. Delhi’s Vijay almost conducted a Super Raid when the opponents pinned him. Vijay’s All-Out became the crucial turning point as Delhi regained the lead. Patna’s Sachin took Sandeep off the mat.

Delhi had a crucial 2-point lead at 26-24 when Prashanth took Manjeet off the mat. Vijay made a Super Raid and evaded Patna’s defence to receive a bonus and 2 points. Delhi was leading with 4 points.  However, Prashanth led successful raids for his team, and Selvamani K made a touchpoint from Delhi’s Mohammad Malak. Patna reduced the score gap to 30-27.

However, Ashu conducted a 2-point raid, and Sandeep pinned Sachin. Manjeet held onto Selvamani’s ankle in the final raid. Delhi ousted Patna through Manjeet and won the match 32-29.
