Pro Kabaddi League: Dabang Delhi defeats Gujarat Giants 52-33

New Delhi: Dabang Delhi defeated Gujarat Giants 52-33 in the Pro Kabaddi League season 09 at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, October 10, 2022.

The match began with Delhi’s Naveen Kumar and Gujarat’s Chandran Ranjit equalising opening scores 1-1. However, Delhi’s Vishal Mane brought Ranjit down and scored for the team. Though Kumar managed a bonus point for the team, Gujarat’s Sourav Gulia took down Ashu Malik and levelled scores 6-6.

Delhi’s Manjeet Chillar conducted the first super raid as a dubki-drag combo to take down Gujarat players Shankar Gadai, Sourav Gulia and Parteek Dhaiya and won three points for the team.

Gujarat’s Rakesh HS goes to tackle but is met with a line of Delhi defence as the latter leads by 19-13. Delhi won the first half 21-17.

The second half began with Dhaiya grabbing a double ankle hold on Naveen and gaining a point at 21-18. Meanwhile, Delhi manages a five-point cushion with Ashu Malik conducting a super tackle as he blocked and turned Dhaiya at 25-20.

Naveen got a super 10 with a smart 2-point raid. He kept his right foot inside and tackled near the lobby to maintain the lead 35-22. Manjeet removed Gujarat’s Rinku Narwal while Rakesh returned with an unsuccessful raid. The scores are 38-24.

Gujarat tried reducing the gap through Mahendra Rajput, who took down Vishal, Ravi Kumar, and Krishan Dhull, and managed to earn 31 points against opponent’s score of 45 points.

However, Dhull extracts revenge as he ousts Rajput and gains a point 47-32. Though Gujarat received a bonus, their opponents conducted an All Out and Delhi became the first team of the season to cross 50 points.

Sonu Ringh and Rajput tried equalising scores but in vain. Dabang Delhi won the match with a whopping 52-33 score.
