New Delhi: The Bengal Warriors defeated hosts Bengaluru Bulls by a slight margin 40-39 in the Pro Kabaddi League at the Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru, on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
The Bengal Warriors began the raid and gained 5 points. Maninder Singh gained a bonus, Abozar Mighani held Pawan Sehrawat’s left thigh and halted him, and Sukesh Hegde conducted a successful raid and made a touchpoint from opponent Amit Sheoran.
On the other hand, Bengaluru’s Chandran Ranjit and Pawan tried earning points for the team. Bengaluru’s Mahender Singh halted Sukesh and equalised scores at 6-6.
Bengal’s Ran Singh got Chandran off the mat and gained points. Maninder tackled Chandran Ranjit off the mat, and Bengal led with 12-10 points. Maninder, Sukesh, and Ran Singh continued to tack the Bulls and gain points. Pawan managed 2 raid points in seven attempts.
The second half began with Chandran earning a touchpoint from Abozar. Meanwhile, Bengaluru made an All-Out and snatched the lead. Pawan earned 2 points, followed by another All-Out for Bengal.
Bengal’s Mohammad Nabibakhsh earned an 8-point raid.
However, Bengal took Chandran down and played an All-Out. Bengal was leading at 33-30 when Nabibakhsh ousted Pawan on his first tackle and earned another point. Bengal got another bonus before Chandran took Amit Narwal and Abozar down. Narwal was gifting points to Bengaluru before going off the mat.
It was a cut-throat competition when Pawan conducted a Super 10. Though Chandran got a bonus, Abozar held his ankle and took Chandran down from the corner. Bengal led at 39-33 when Maninder conducted a do-or-die raid and took Mahender off the mat. Bengal scored 40-35 against Bengaluru.
Sukesh conducted a do-or-die raid but failed to tackle, and Bengaluru scored. The match ended with Bengal winning with 40-39 points.
