Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared an article highlighting the role of continuous reforms and farmer-focused initiatives in driving steady growth in India’s agricultural sector. The vision, he noted, aligns with the country’s broader goal of building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
The article was authored by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who detailed the government’s efforts to modernise agriculture, improve rural livelihoods, and ensure long-term sustainability in the sector.
Sharing the article on social media platform X, the Prime Minister stated:
“Union Minister Shri @ChouhanShivraj explains the continuous reforms and farmer-centric initiatives that have led to steady growth in the agricultural sector, aiming to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
Over the years, the government has introduced a range of policy reforms aimed at empowering farmers—ranging from improved access to markets and credit and promotion of technology and innovation to enhanced crop insurance and irrigation coverage.
