NEW DELHI, April 19: “Kem Cho?” (How Are You?), the people of Gujarat and India had a pleasant surprise with the greetings coming from the World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He greeted the public in Gujarati during the inaugural ceremony of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar in Gujarat on Tuesday.
While addressing the public during the ceremony, the WHO Director-General said, “I have a special connection with India. I learned about traditional medicines from India, I am very grateful to my teachers.” He added, “I also grew up watching Bollywood films and I understand that the Swiss Alps are a favourite destination for Bollywood fans.”
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in the presence of Mauritius PM Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel and Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal among others.
