Ahmedabad: Petrol and diesel prices were today hiked by 80 paise a litre each, taking the total increase in rates in the last nine days to ₹ 5.60 per litre. According to a price notification of state fuel retailers, Petrol in Delhi will now cost ₹ 101.01 per litre as against ₹ 100.21 previously while diesel rates have gone up from ₹ 91.47 per litre to ₹ 92.27
Fuel prices were increased for an eighth time today since the daily price revisions restarted on March 22. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) began daily fuel rate revisions on March 22 after a four-and-half-month long hiatus.
Petrol prices Rs 106.69 in Chennai today, up by 75 paise, while diesel costs Rs 96.76, up 76 paise, and fuel costs Rs 95.42 in Kolkata (increased by 80 paise).
Rallying on account of surging crude oil prices globally, petrol price once again breached the Rs 100- mark in Ahmedabad.
