New Delhi: At least eight people are feared dead and scores injured in a massive fire at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Dhule district.
The blaze was caused due to multiple cylinder blasts at the chemical factory in Waghadi village in Shirpur taluka. At least 100 workers were present inside the factory when the incident occurred around 9:45 am on Saturday.
A massive smoke covered the factory in a moment. Fire tenders are on the spot and efforts are made to extinguish the fire.
Various teams of police, disaster management and fire brigade are conducting rescue operations.
“Prima facie, multiple cylinders exploded at the factory. At least eight bodied have been recovered by the police and rescue teams so far. Rescue operation is on”, the Shirpur police station officer said.
