New Delhi: Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan revealed on Saturday, April 30, 2022, that Knight Riders Group (KRG) in association with the Major Cricket League (MLC) and the City of Irvine will build a cricket stadium in Los Angeles, California.

On Saturday, the authorities confirmed the approval of an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) that permits lease negotiations and design approvals to build the stadium.

The upcoming stadium will be built on a 15 acre-plot in Green Park, Los Angeles, and will host the Major Cricket League (MLC) and operate as a significant venue for international events including the Olympic Games.

KRG are the owners of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and possess a substantial involvement in the world T20 cricket.

“Our investment in MLC in America is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the USA and is well-aligned to our strategy of establishing Knight Riders as a global brand in T20 cricket. Plans to build a world-class cricket stadium in the greater Los Angeles area are exciting for us and MLC. This will no doubt have a transformational impact on one of the world’s most iconic metropolitan areas,” the KRG owner Shahrukh Khan said.
