New Delhi: An elaborate ceremony accompanied by a musical event marked the Kargil Vijay Diwas at the Indian Army’s Northern Command headquarters in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
Officially, the Kargil Vijay Diwas will be observed on July 26 to commemorate 22 years of victory in the Kargil War against Pakistan.
The event was marked by observance of the Covid-19 guidelines, an official statement said.
“The Shaurya Band of Jammu and Kashmir joined the Northern Command at Udhampur to present a musical evening full of patriotism and national fervor to honor the heroes of the Kargil War,” it said.
“The event was dedicated to the Kargil War. The band’s name itself is an ode to the gallant warriors who stood against all odds to safeguard our frontiers even to the peril of their lives,” the statement read.
