J&K: Terrorist killed during encounter in Baramulla

Srinagar: The Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir eliminated one terrorist in an encounter on Tuesday. The operation to kill the terrorist broke out in the Tulibal area of Sopore town in the Baramulla district.

Meanwhile, another encounter was reported from the Tujjan area of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. As per the sources, two militants are believed to be trapped in Pulwama. More details on the Pulwama encounter were awaited.

This comes a day after three terrorists were killed in two separate encounters with security forces in Kashmir on Monday, taking the number of ultras killed in the past 24 hours to seven, police said.

“An encounter began in Kupwara on Sunday. Two LeT terrorists from Pakistan were killed yesterday itself. Another Pakistani terrorist was gunned down early morning today. A local terrorist from Shopian, Showkat was gunned down along with him,” IGP Kashmir told media.

“In Pulwama, a local terrorist of LeT was gunned down. In Kulgam, a local terrorist of Jaish-e-Mohammed and one Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist were killed. A total of seven terrorists killed so far. Three of them were Pakistanis and four were local terrorists. Encounters concluded in Kupwara and Pulwama. Search is underway in Kulgam,” he added.
