Srinagar: Policeman of Jammu and Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad Wagay on Sunday was attacked by an unidentified terrorist. Police personnel was shot at by terrorists at Bandzawoo in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pulwama.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, the personnel identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Wagay was shifted to a local hospital as he sustained gunshot injuries. Pulwama police received information about a terror crime incident at Bandzoo area of the district where terrorists had fired upon police personnel.
Meanwhile, the area was cordoned off and a case has been registered in the matter under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway.
The incident comes after terrorists last week carried out a deadly attack on a bus carrying Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police personnel on the outskirts of Srinagar on the 20th anniversary of the Parliament Attack.
The Kashmir Tigers, a little-known outfit that is believed to be a front of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group, had claimed responsibility for the December 13 firing on the police bus.
