Jharkhand: COVID-19 related restrictions extended till January 31

New Delhi: The Jharkhand government has extended the present COVID-19 related restrictions till January 31 as Coronavirus cases are rising in the state. All educational institutions will remain closed, but official work will be allowed with 50 percent capacity.

The state government has announced that all stadiums, parks, gyms, swimming pools, tourist destinations will remain closed, and only 100 people are allowed in gatherings for weddings and funerals. Markets will remain open till 8 pm while chemist shops, restaurants, and bars have been allowed to – remain open.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand reported 3,258 new cases, 3,351 recoveries, and seven deaths on Saturday. 14 new cases of the Omicron variant were found in Jharkhand on Saturday. Besides Jharkhand, West Bengal has also extended the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions till January 31. Religious places will remain open.

Metro trains in Kolkata will run as per their regular timings with 50 percent capacity and all government offices, including public undertakings, corporations, and statutory bodies, as well as private offices, shall function with 50 percent of their employees.
