New Delhi: English pacer James Anderson reached a unique landmark when he clinched 100 Test Wickets against India on Friday, July 01, 2022.
Anderson bagged Indian opener Shubhman Gill’s wicket on Day 01 of the rescheduled fifth test at Birmingham, England, and reached the landmark.
The veteran speedster clinched 100 wickets at an average speed of 23.70’. Earlier, the English team had named playing eleven for the rescheduled test match.
The Three Lions made a change to a side that won the third test against New Zealand at Headingley with Anderson replacing Jamie Overton despite Overton’s score of 97 during his test debut at the Headingley’s last week.
India is expected to secure their first Test series victory in England since the year 2007. However, they will face England under the leadership of Coach Brendon McCullum and Captain Ben Stokes.
The English cricket team swept ICC World Test Championship winners, New Zealand with a score of 3-0 at the home ground, whereas India has played only one warm-up match against Leicestershire in the test match.
