The 19-year-old defeated German shooter Micheal Schwald 16-6 in the gold medal match of the Men’s 10m air pistol event. He ranked third in the qualification stage with 584 points and secured a seat in the top 8 semi-finals.

Chaudhary topped the final stage relay with 38 points to participate in the medal matches. The Olympian ranked highest with 42.5 points in the semi-finals and topped the group of four shooters who had contested for the medal event.

Though Russian shooter Artem Chernousov bagged the bronze medal, ISSF removed his flag due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Shooters Esha Singh, Shri Nivetha, and Ruchita Vinerkar are representing India in the women’s 10m air pistol event.

On Monday, Indian shooter Shreya Agrawal narrowly missed the semi-finals of the ISSF World Cup with 0.1 points less than the 8th semifinalist, Eszter Meszaros of Hungary.

According to the new rules implemented by the ISSF, only eight players will qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup 2022 in 10m air rifle and 10m air pistol individual events.

These top eight players will split into a group of four shooters. The top two contenders from each group will progress to the gold medal match. Nearly 500 shooters from 60 nations are participating in the Cairo World Cup 2022.
