New Delhi: Indian shuttler HS Prannoy defeated Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus in straight sets 21-11, 21-18 of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 tournament 2022 quarterfinals on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Prannoy dominated the opening set and made a cross court smash to immediately gain a 11-3 lead. However, his erratic and unforced errors helped Ng Ka Long gain a few points. Prannoy made another cross-court smash and maintained his lead before winning the first set 21-11.
Ng Ka Long Angus made progress in the final set as he made long rallies, whereas Prannoy managed to keep a 9-7 lead with a return on his opponent’s back hand corner. Ng Ka Long Angus made a wide as the Indian made a two-point cushion mid-interval.
The Indian extended his lead by 16-11 points. Prannoy made superb baseline rallies. Though Ng Ka Long Angus tried ousting his opponent, he failed to dominate the set as Prannoy won the seat to the Quarterfinals on Thursday.
