Indian Super League: Odisha FC Beats SC East Bengal 2-1

New Delhi: The Odisha Football Club (FC) defeated SC East Bengal 2-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, Goa, on Monday, February 07, 2022.

The gruelling match began with a goal by Odisha in the 22nd minute. Javi Hernandez gave a pass to Jonathas Cristian, who made a right-footed shot from the centre of the box. The ball went past SC keeper Sankar Roy to the centre of the goal.

SC’s Darren Sidoel assisted Antonio Perosevic, whose left-footed shot went wide in the 33rd minute. Perosevic’s second attempt was also blocked in the 35th minute.

FC’s Isaac Vanmalsawma passed the ball to Paul Ramfangzauva in the 40th minute. Ramfangzauva’s right-footed shot missed from more than 35 yards away.

SC East Bengal was aggressive as they tried equalising scores. SC’s Naocha Huidrom Singh assisted Marcelo dos Santos in the 57th minute. Santos right footed shot from the left side of the box was blocked by FC goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh. Santos passed to Perosevic, whose right-footed shot was blocked in the 60th minute.

SC’s Franjo Prce gave a thorough ball to Perosevic, who made a left-footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner in the 63rd minute. Both teams were tied 1-1.

However, FC’s Cristian gave a pass to Hernandez, who struck a right-footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner and scored in the 74thh minute. Odisha FC won the match 2-1 as SC East Bengal failed to score despite enough scoring chances.
