Indian Super League: Jamshedpur FC Beats NorthEast United FC by 3-2

New Delhi: Jamshedpur Football Club (FC) beat NorthEast United by 3-2 in the Indian Super League, held at the Bambolim Athletic Stadium, Goa, on January 6, 2022.

Deshorn Brown of NE United gave a right-foot shot from the right to the centre of the box and made the team lead within 3 minutes into the game. Surprised and shaken by an early goal from the opponents, the Jamshedpur FC attempted many goals that were either missed or saved by NE keeper Mirshad Michu.

However, a foul by NE’s Mashoor Shereef Thangalakathin in the 42nd minute awarded a free-kick to Jamshedpur’s Boris Singh. Singh gave a long left-wing to Jordan Murray, who gave a header and equalized the scores.

The second half began with both teams at 1-1 tie. Singh gave a right-foot shot from the left side of the box in the 53rd minute. The ball successfully hit the centre of the net, and Jamshedpur gained a 2-1 lead. The goal came 2 minutes after FC’s Jitendra Singh committed a foul.

Thangalakathin received a yellow card for a bad foul in the 69th minute. Meanwhile, scoring attempts by FC players are blocked and saved by the defensive opponents.

Midfielder Rochharzela and William Lalnunfela substituted Mathias Coureur and Imran Khan of NorthEast United in the 77th minute. Another double substitution occurred in the 83rd minute. Ishan Pandita and Alex Lima replaced Mobashir Rahman and Jordan Murray of Jamshedpur FC.

NE gained a point in the 90th minute when Thangalakathin gave a pass to Brown, who shot a right-footed corner. NE had equalized the scores when Jamshedpur substitute Pandita made a left-foot shot with the help of Alex and defeated the opponents by 3-2 in the 92nd minute.
