Indian Super League: Jamshedpur FC beats Hyderabad FC 3-0 to enter Semifinals

New Delhi: Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) beat Hyderabad FC (HFC) 3-0 in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Athletic Stadium, Goa, on Tuesday, March 01, 2022. 

The match began with JFC in the lead as HFC player Chinglesana Singh deflected and scored in his own net in the 5th minute. Though HFC’s Yasir Mohammad made a right-footed shot from close to the box, JFC keeper TP Rehenesh stopped the attempt in the 16th minute.

HFC tried to defend the opponents but in vain. JFC Captain Peter Hartley headed a corner and doubled the lead in the 28th minute. Jamshedpur won the first half 2-0. 

The next half began with HFC’s Nikhil Poojary tackling the ball away from JFC’s Alex Lima in the 48th minute.

Hyderabad’s Khassa Camara made a mistake, and the ball landed with Lima. Lima passed the ball to Daniel Chukwu and scored a goal for the team. Though Hyderabad had a strong defense, they were unable to make goals. 

Jamshedpur FC is atop the leaderboard with 37 points, closely followed by Hyderabad FC at 35 points. With the match, JFC has qualified for the semifinals of the ISL for the first time in the League’s history.
