New Delhi: Goa Football Club (GFC) and Odisha Football Club (FC) stood at a 1-1 draw in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Athletic Stadium, Goa, on Tuesday, February 01, 2022.
Odisha’s Javi Hernández assisted Aridai Cabrera, whose right-footed attempt was blocked in the 3rd minute. GFC’s Makan Chothe gave a pass to Airam Cabrera, whose long-range left-foot shot missed to the right side. Airam then passed to Brandon Fernandes, who attempted a left-foot shot from outside the box. The shot missed to the right in the 6th minute.
GFC’s Alberto Noguera assisted Cabrera in a left-foot shot from the left side of the box, but the attempt went too high in the 15th minute. Fernandes attempted another right-footed shot from outside the box, but the goal missed to the left in the 23rd minute.
Odisha’s Cabrera helped Víctor Mongil attempt a header. He shot from the right side of the 6-yard box, but the keeper saved it in the 36th minute. GFC’s Anwar Ali gave a headed pass to Edu Bedia in the 41st minute, but the Odisha keeper saved Bedia’s left-footed shot. The first half ended in a goalless draw from both teams.
Odisha’s Jonathas Cristian stepped up for a penalty kick and made a long shot across the GFC keeper in the 61st minute. Odisha was leading 1-0. Though GFC’s Jerry Mawihmingthanga tried scoring in the 76th minute, the ball went over the crossbar. GFC desperately tried equalizing scores while Odisha tried maintaining its position.
GFC’s Airam Cabrera gave a cross to substitute Alexander Jesuraj, who headed the ball from a very close range to the center of the net and equalized scores in the 93rd minute. The match ended with both teams at equal scores 1-1.
