New Delhi: Chennaiyin Football Club (CFC) and Hyderabad Football Club (FC) equalised scores as they shared a 1-1 tie in the Indian Super League (ISL) held at the Nehru Stadium, Goa, on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
The match began with Chennaiyin FC charging aggressively as Mirlan Murzaev shot an off-target from the left flank in the 7th minute. Hyderabad’s Javier Siverio entered the box as CFC keeper Debjit Majumder saved the shot in the 10th minute.
CFC’s Anirudh Thapa passed a free-kick to Mohammad Sajid, who headed from the left in the 12th minute and opened the score for CFC.
Hyderabad fizzled under pressure as attempts from footballers Edu García and Sauvik Chakrabarti were blocked in the 13th minute. García gave a cross to Siverio, who missed a header in the 21st minute. Aniket Jadhav created several scoring opportunities, but his shots were saved or stopped. CFC thwarted Hyderabad’s scoring attempts.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad’s Asish Rai curled the ball in the box, and Siverio headed the first goal for the team in the 48th minute and equalised scores.
The second half began with Debjit saving back-to-back nets from the opponents. Though Asish Rai shot from the right of the box in the 61st minute, the ball went straight to the keeper. Both teams failed to score despite substitutions in the second half. The match ended with a 1-1 draw
