NEW DELHI, Feb 22: Indian Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, the Chief of the Air Staff, (CAS) embarked on an official goodwill visit to Bangladesh on Monday on an invitation from his counterpart Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force (BAF).

Chief of Air Staff Bangladesh recently represented his country at the Chiefs of Air Staff Conclave 21 at Air Force Station Yelahanka where he led a delegation to Aero India 2021 earlier this month in Bengaluru.

Prior to his departure the Indian Air Force tweeted “CAS Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria embarked on a goodwill visit to Bangladesh today, on an invitation from Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, Chief of Air Staff Bangladesh Air Force”.

The Indian High Commission in Bangladesh tweeted when he landed in Bangladesh “Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, CAS, IAF arrived at Dhaka today on the invitation of Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat for a three-day visit which will strengthen the close and fraternal ties between the Armed Forces of the two countries”.

During the three-day visit, the CAS and delegation are scheduled to interact with senior officials and visit key operational bases of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF). They will discuss the progress made in areas of shared interests and explore avenues for further mutual military cooperation.

The CAS visit to Bangladesh takes place at a significant period for both Bangladesh and Indian Armed Forces as they celebrate 50 years of the 1971 war. It will enhance the existing professional ties and friendship between the two Air Forces, an official spokesman said.
