New Delhi, April 20: The High Court has given its verdict over the case filed by Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter for spreading fake news about her health on the YouTube platform in Delhi on Thursday.
On the hearing of the case, the High court restrained all those YouTube channels which were publishing misleading content about the health of Aradhya Bachchan.
Recently, the father (Abhishek Bachchan) and the child have gone to court for spreading false news about Aradhya Bachhan. A certain YouTube channel has spread the fake news, claiming that the girl’s health is in critical condition or that she has died.
On this matter, Justice C. Shankar said that every child has to be treated with honour and respect, and such a case of spreading the rumour is “completely intolerable in law.”
Not only that, but the court has also directed Google to take down all the content from the platform that claims the girl is critically ill or has passed away. Further, the court has also asked Google to inform the details about the uploader and asked it to fill out the response stating the detailed policy as an intermediary rule for dealing with such objectionable content on its YouTube channel.
The Court also remarked that the spreading of such misleading information about the child at such a tender age reflected “morbid perversity” and “complete apathy in the interests of the child.”
