Deesa: The extremists who have an agenda to convert Hindus and Hindu girls to Islam must be punished and activities related to this must be prohibited as soon as possible, said a Hindu Union leader from Deesa with the condition of anonymity.

In the name of ‘Love Jihad’, the extremists are getting support (Financial and other) from religious leaders to target Hindu girls, and Police must investigate more this case, the leader added.

According to the media report, the Hindu Union in Deesa held a meeting and organized a large rally against ‘Love Jihad’ cases in the Deesa, Banaskantha district. During the meeting, leaders had decided to keep shops and businesses off for Saturday to express anger against ‘Love Jihad’ in the region.

A few days back, a Hindu man in Deesa – has attempted to commit suicide after a Muslim youth, Ejaz Shaikh, trapped his daughter in love jihad and through his daughter got his wife and son converted to Islam. The police have arrested the Muslim youth.

When a Hindu man approached the Shaikh family to meet his wife and children, the Shaikhs demanded Rs 25 lakh. Dejected by this, he attempted suicide. The police recovered a suicide note from Solanki’s house which said that he was disillusioned with the attitude of his family members who have become hard-core Islamists after being brainwashed by Islamists.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered against five members of the Sheikh family under Indian Penal Code Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 384 (extortion), and 506 (criminal intimidation), the police official said, adding that two of the accused have been arrested.

An activist who is helping many converted girls to revert to the Sanatana fold said, “Several such cases have come to the fore where Hindu girls are first trapped in love jihad and later the entire family members are converted. There are Islamist outfits like Popular Front which sends trained youth to trap non-Muslim girls.”
