Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Sunday declared the National Institute of Design as a micro contentment zone after reporting 24 covid cases in the premises. The National Institute of Design (NID) in Gujarat reported 24 Covid-19 cases while around 178 were quarantined and two students were hospitalized.
This is the second time an academic institution has reported a large number of Covid cases, following Gujarat National Law University in Gandhinagar. The GNLU had 162 active cases at its peak, but it is now Covid-free.
Meanwhile, Gujarat recorded 37 new cases on Sunday. Out of these, 34 were recorded in Ahmedabad, while Jamnagar and Vadodara registered one case each. One case was reported from rural Gujarat.
