New Delhi: Four out of five people in Pakistan believe that Pakistan headed in the wrong direction, a latest survey report of IPSOS says.
IPSOS Group is a multinational market research and consulting firm with headquarters in Paris, France.
A latest report was released on Tuesday, December 15 and it says that “77 percent people in Pakistan believe that Pakistan headed in the wrong direction and 23 percent people believe that the country is moving towards the right direction.”
More than 1,000 people from all over the country participated in the survey which was conducted from December 1 to December 6, 2020.
Last year in the fourth quarter – around 79 percent people had shared different opinions and 21 people said that the country is in the right direction.
On the Financial situation of Pakistan – Local media reported that “51 percent people in Pakistan believe it is neither strong nor weak, 36 per cent people said that the current personal financial situation is weak and 13 percent said the financial situation is strong.”
Meanwhile, last year’s data show that 38 percent believed that their financial situation is weak, 5 percent viewed it as strong and 57 percent put it in between.
As per the state wise assessment – the report found that poor financial situation featured in almost all the provinces and inflation ranked number 1 among the list of top 4 contributors to the desperate situation.
“In Sindh, the second-highest contributor was viewed to be unemployment (20 percent), followed by Covid-19 (17 percent) and poverty (16 percent). In Punjab, 23 percent people felt the province’s poor financial situation stems from unemployment, 8 per cent thought it was due to Covid-19 and 14 per cent believed poverty has a role,” Local media of Pakistan said.
In Balochistan around 25 percent responded by blaming unemployment, two percent believe that coronavirus affected the financial system and 25 percent said poverty is responsible behind it. In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region about 18 percent believed unemployment, 12 percent viewed coronavirus and 8 percent called poverty as the reason behind the province’s financial situation.
