New Delhi, Feb 27: The Saudis are probing Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo for his “inappropriate behavior” during a recent match between Al Nasar and Al Shabab.
At full-time, the Al Shabab fans were heard chanting Lionel Messi’s name which infuriated Ronaldo. He exploded and went to the stands with an ‘immoral gesture’ in front of Al Shabab fans, the media reported.
A five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo was captured on camera cupping his hands in the direction of Al Shabab fans before pumping them in front of his pelvic area.
Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported that Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently under investigation by the Saudi National Football Federation (SAFF), might even be punished.
According to the reports, the disciplinary commission is studying the videos captured during the end of the game and the final decision will be taken in the next two days.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now playing his second year in Saudi Arabia and he is the leading scorer in the Saudi Pro League with 22 goals in 20 games.
