New Delhi, June 17: French star Kylian Mbappe will not represent his national team at the 2024 Olympics, beginning in July, as his new team is against the idea, the media reported on Sunday.

Mbappe,25, who previously said he wanted to play at the Olympics, was not included in France’s Olympic squad because the Spanish club Real Madrid FC said any of its players participating in Euro 2024 could not play at the Olympics.

“My club’s position is very clear. So from that moment on, I think I won’t be taking part in the Games, Now I think I’m going to wish this French national team all the best. I hope they will bring home the gold medal.” Mbappe said.

He agreed to join Real Madrid FC on a free transfer when his contract with Paris Saint Germain FC expires on June 30. The men’s Olympic football is starting on July 24.
