Football: Injured, Lionel Messi apologizes to Hong Kong fans for not playing

New Delhi, Feb 7:  Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has apologized to his Hong -Kong fans for his inability to play a pre-season game there because of his injury.

His fans demanded a refund of their money when they realized he wouldn’t play.

During a press conference, Messi said, “Unfortunately in football, as in other games also, such things can happen. It happened to me as well.”

“I couldn’t play in the Hong Kong match, and it was a shame because I always wanted to participate. I wanted to be there, even more so when it came to these games when we travelled so far and people were so excited to see our matches.”

“I hope we can return and play another game. But the truth is that it’s a shame that I could not participate.”

On Wednesday, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami had another pre-season game in Japan with Vessel Kobe FC.

When a journalist asked Messi if he was playing in Japan he said “Now I feel better unlike a few days ago. It all depends on how that (training)goes. I still don’t know if I will be able to play or not.”

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami FC are currently playing pre-season games in different countries.
