New Delhi, July 2: Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that Euro 2024 will be his final appearance at the European championship, the media reported on Tuesday.
“It is, without doubt, my last championship. But I’m not emotional about that. I’m moved by all that football means by the enthusiasm I have for the game, the enthusiasm for seeing my supporters, my family, and the affection people have for me.” he said.
Ronaldo,39, is the tournament’s all-time top scorer with 14 goals and he still has a chance to add more as his country Portugal will face France in the quarter-finals on Friday.
Five times Ballon d’Or winner, he represented his nation in Euro for the first time in 2004. Since then, he broke various tournament records, including the most appearances and the most goals. With Portugal, Ronaldo won Euro2016 after beating France 1-0.
